New Changing Exhibition

November 7th, 2011

A friend and I got tickets to see the 9/11 Memorial at Ground Zero months in advance of its opening.  Our assigned day in mid-October dawned overcast with low hanging rain clouds.  I was sure that I wouldn’t get any good photos from the shoot.  To my surprise and delight, the weather added dramatically to the sense of sadness, history, and future that one gets visiting the Memorial site.  Please click on Changing Exhibition on the top tool bar to see the show.  Remember you can see the photo titles by moving your cursor over the image.  And you can enlarge them by clicking on them once they’re open. Do let me know what you think by going to comments below this blog entry.

Cranberry Bogs

October 23rd, 2011

Made a special trip to the cranberry bogs to shoot them, only to find that they were not farmed this year.  The images were, however, unexpected.

Zuccotti Park, New York City

October 17th, 2011

I was coming from a shoot of the 9/11 memorial (an upcoming Changing Exhibition) and passed the protest at Zuccotti Park, formerly called Liberty Plaza Park.  I was taken by how small the park is – one square block of concrete, no grass – and by how mixed the messages of the protestors are.

A fun photo for a rainy beginning of the week.  Taken with a long lens, I was standing about a block away!  Also, don’t forget to check out the new Iconic DC page under Portfolio in the menu.
