HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Friday, December 31st, 2010

So as any New Yorker will tell you, never go near Times Square on New Years Eve!  It’s packed with people stuck in pens like animals for hours waiting for the ball to drop. So what to do?  How about a daytime trip to Times Square.  Fun, festive, and still room to move around.  Got a million shots of the stick with the 2011 sign below it but thought this was more interesting.

A happy, healthy, peaceful, and prosperous 2011 everyone!

Blizzard

Monday, December 27th, 2010

So glad I got my holiday walk in last week.  New York City, and much of the east coast, had a major blizzard yesterday.  Here’s a black and white shot of the storm in progress.  I took this with my coat and hat on, standing at an open window.  The wind was blowing so hard that it was difficult to stand there, and that was just at the window.  Imagine actually being out in the storm!

Holidays in the City

Wednesday, December 22nd, 2010

Along with the image of the wonderful decorations on Sixth Avenue (see Iconic New York, Color), I’ve got lots of city holiday images.

Please write to me at ellen@ellengoodmanphotography.com if you would like to see others. And of course they are available for purchase from 8×10″ up to 30×40″, as are all of my photographs.

Happy Holidays everyone!

City Sunset

Sometimes an average cloudy day can lead to a wonderful sunset.  How lucky was I to catch it?
