I’ve always been intrigued by photography. When I received my first good camera as a college graduation present in the 1970s, it was a life-changing event. As a woman with an artistic eye, who was never comfortable with a paintbrush and tubes of color, I found the camera to be the perfect tool for capturing the image in my mind’s eye.

If art is beauty created by light and composition, then photography is the medium best suited to express that beauty.

With a lifetime of looking and creating compositions, I see and then seize the moment, capturing them forever on film, now digitally, and ultimately on paper.

You don’t take a photograph, you make it.
