New Changing Exhibition – Sunsets

Thursday, July 26th, 2012

I’ve always loved the challenge of sunset photography.  Catching the sun as it turns red and heads for the horizon is no easy task.

Herewith are some of my favorite sunset shots: http://www.ellengoodmanphotography.com/changing-exhibition

Family Tree

Monday, July 23rd, 2012

Over the weekend, I happened upon an old Quaker cemetery and found it to be so beautiful and peaceful.  There were stones for entire families, some dating back to the mid 18th century.  This family had its own tree.

Osprey Nest

Sunday, July 15th, 2012

A thirty foot platform was built on Manhasset Creek as part of the New Jersey osprey project.   Here the ospreys have set up their nest and tend to their baby.  Not easy to get to, you can’t get very close at all, and I had to set up my tripod in the reeds, but so worth it!  Truly beautiful and amazing.

Happy Birthday America!

Here’s a favorite photo of mine from 2010.  Have a wonderful 4th of July everyone.

Sunset Over 57th Street

Monday, July 2nd, 2012

I usually try to change up the subject matter on the blog each week, but I took this shot on my way home from a shoot on the West Side, hand-held – no time to put up my tripod – and in traffic.  One of my favorite followers (you know who you are and thanks!) convinced me that it was such a good photograph, that I should break my rule and put it up on the blog, even though last week’s shot was a sunset as well.  This fan also wants sunsets to be a theme for next year’s calendar.  Any opinions?
