An instant classic Ellen shot – the sunset, the dimmed skyline, even that double-towered building that you capture so well. Beautiful shot, well done.
Stunning with the sun reflecting in the water, the silhouettes of the buildings creating a wonderful line and the eerie clouds over all of it.
Breathtaking, Ellen! The sunset, soft clouds in the sky, the reflection on the water. So peaceful.
Love the lighting, the contrast, the balance. Beautiful!
So well composed!
Gorgeous shot. You’ve captured the sun between 2 towers, against a lovely evening sky. The reflection of the sun on the water reminds me of the moon in many Munch paintings. And the silhouette of the buildings against the sky – magnificent!
A whole lot of parameters had to be met to make this shot. Good work.
What a lovely photograph. Peaceful end to a New York Day. You captured the aura and beauty. Wonderful composition, Ellen!
You must have waited a long time there to get this shot. It’s striking to me how there is no sign of life in and around the big city. Beautiful contrasts.
Yes both Jans! My photog friend and I were at the reservoir for more than three hours waiting for the sun to set between the towers. A lot of parameters had to be met indeed. We were in the runners path so we couldn’t use tripods; we had to secure our cameras by holding them still on the fencing; had to guess at light meter settings because it was impossible to see any dials while looking directly into the sun; and then trying to focus while being blinded by the sun wasn’t easy either. Thank you both for recognizing the work that goes into the perfect shot!
