I love the stark simplicity of this one – the lines of the poles and the line of the neck, the curve at the top towards the head and the curve of the pond. Well done!
Such a tranquil scene in the “wilds” of NJ. The composition moves the eye back into deep space at a leisurely pace. I keep wondering where this guy’s friends are – he so alone in the great salt marsh.
The simplicity of this photo is beautiful. It reminds very much of a Japanese print, not only because of the egret’s pose, but because of the softness of the surrounding landscape. The bird’s reflection if uplifting to me, somehow- as if he’s looking to the future, or for his mate or something. Soft, quiet, perfect.
Egrets just love Jersey. Nice photo.

Great job again, Ellen!
