I love the way you captured the halo around the sun and the concentric rings that ripple beyond, as well as the way the reflection dips below the horizon in the foreground! Spectacular!
Are these colors for real? The red and black are so supersaturated and the large halo surrounding the sun glows! The black and red halves are divided by the lamppost and the sun into roughly 3 parts. The symmetry and simplicity of the composition are compelling.
Wow the black against the red orange is gorgeous. Another stunning photograph!

It treats us with this brilliant, colorful feast!
Thanks for catching this final nod!
What a striking photograph, Ellen! The contrast of shades of orange against the blackness is so rich. Well done!
Wow, this is beautiful! I love how simple it is (horizon, sun, pole – perch?) and how powerful because of the contrasting colors. Well done.
Wow–the intensity of the colors makes this photo seem other-worldly!

Bernice, the colors are real, with a bit of artistic license!
