LOVE this photo – so stark and gorgeously silhouetted. The tree reminds me of antlers or animal bones, and it’s haunting somehow. The lighting is spectacular! Well done as always.
The dark, dead tree branches silhouetted against the stormy sky looks mournful, ghostly and dramatic. It’s almost as if the tree is reaching out to the hill across the silvery sea.
It wasn’t a stormy sky Bernice. It was actually a sunny late afternoon and I was shooting right into the sun. That’s why the top of the image is a little blown out. But it was very dramatic!
Pretty. Nice contrast.
A dramatic shot with great perspective, Ellen! I really like the trailing off mountain in the distance against the gnarly tree. Well done!
What an interesting branch you’ve captured! I love the shape and the changing shades of the sky.

This is such a unique shape: strong, jagged, interrupted and dramatically contrasting with the sky and the sea.
I like the “window” in the tree, that makes me feel like I am looking for spring on a winter’s day.
