I like this one, Ellen! On the surface it’s a great composition and perspective with the history of a railroad connection and the city far away. But it is the parallel rail lines that really draw me in. Once I am there, I explore the textures between the rails. Well done!
An instant Ellen classic! I love the grit of the railway tracks juxtaposed with the iconic city skyline, as well as your use of perspective and the different types of lines. Wonderful photo.
I feel like I’m in the first car of the train, rushing towards the city. Great illustration of perspective and the contrast between verticals and diagonals.
It’s actually just a small area on the LIC waterfront where the rails remain from railroad lines long since closed. I liked the juxtaposition of old and new.
All lines lead to New York City. And in this photo, they really do. The lines on the sides lead one’s eyes to the rails which take you to the skyline of Manhattan complete with the Chrysler Building and the Empire State Building. Very nice.

Great vanishing point and perspective. Maybe this is the “Real Way” to get into the city!! ; )

Nice photo.
I’ve really never seen such an empty place in NYC!! Nice shot!

It seems as if the rails will take you right into the buildings–great perspective!
Every rail leads us there!
Fantastic photo with wonderful perspective. It has an amazing view of the New York City skyline with iconic buildings.
