Ha ha! Even funnier is that no one seems to notice! – but you did!!!

  2. Carole says:

    Mommy, what’s that man doing?

  3. Thom says:

But what does his sign read – “Poems, $.50”? “Taxes done while you wait”? “Writing the Great American Novel – contributions gratefully accepted”?

    Inquiring minds want to know!

  4. ellen says:

How’d you guess? “Poetry Upon Request”!

  5. Michelle says:

This made me laugh out loud!! Only in NYC!

  6. Simone says:

I love the juxtaposition of the man sitting with the typewriter and the chaotic NYC street filled with passers-by! And thanks to you, I’m following this man on Instagram now 🙂

  7. Bruce says:

Conservative looking guy, but has anyone checked out his shoes??? Speaks to an underlying whole other person. Fun shot, Ellen!

  8. Bernice says:

Your wit is superseded only by your skill at composition. This guy reminds me of the “scribes” in Third World countries, who write letters for the illiterate. Of course, his outmoded typewriter is odd enough in the day of computers.

  9. Cheryl says:

It must be an awful lot of fun for you to document the multitudes of offbeat subjects in the Big Apple. There is something around every corner. That is one of the things I remember most about Manhattan.

  10. Anne says:

I just love this–he’s just working away oblivious to the passersby.
