love love love this photo. so captures the weather of the weekend.
I really like the long branches with new growth – a sign of Spring and life, and how it relates to the long fisherman’s pole, maybe a fish on it – another sign of life.
I love this photo so much that if I had wall space I would buy it and hang it up. They say a photo is worth a thousand words…well this one is worth even more!!!!
You can really feel the weather in this shot. Lovely pairing too, of the verticals of the branches with the horizontals of the shoreline and waves.
Glad you all like. Beverly, all photos are for sale, in sizes ranging from 8×10, 11×14, 16×20, 20×24, and larger. Bernice, there’s another vertical which is hard to see in this low resolution jpeg, and that’s the fishing pole which parallels the verticality of the branches. And Bruce, ironic that you like the long branches, as this shot was taken in Long Branch!
Ellen, you do such unusual shots of the beach. Keep up the good work.
It is hard to imagine that someone loves fishing so much that they would do it on what I’m sure was a very chilly, damp day. But then again, there is a determined and creative photographer we all know that is out there right along with him. Ellen, I’m so glad you had your camera with you even on such a dreary day as this. What a shame it would be if you had missed this great shot.
The branches make this photo. Your eyes start with them, move on towards the rocks, and wind up at the fisherman in the distance. Once there, you’re drawn back to the front and the cycle starts over. Without the branches, you would lose much of the sense of depth you’ve created in this scene. They and the rocks give contrast and movement to what would otherwise be a flat-looking landscape made up of colors washed out by the fog.
That’s a fantastic photo, I absolutely love the composition. One of my favorite photos of yours thus far.
