What a giddy, dizzying time that must have been, but what amazing images came from that shoot. I don’t believe you have anything like this in your portfolio! Brava!
What a great shot, Ellen! As subject matter, this dense-packed city image is so alive with light. But what also stands out are the shapes I see throughout the image – rectangles, squares, angled facades. Very well done!
New York in black and gold! Gorgeous! I don’t know what roof top you ventured onto at night, but this belongs in your Iconic NYC series. It so well expresses the density and vibrancy of NY at night.
What a wonderful perspective of NYC; full of electronic life, vibrancy, textures and tones. If you took this same photo and shrunk it to micro size, it would appear like a computer chip also full of life, vibrancy, textures and tones. Amazing creations, big and small!
I’ve said this about your work before, but I can imagine this as a painting, easily. You have such a great eye for composition and this photo is no exception–dizzying, exciting, beautifully capturing the city and its nightly display of sparkling lights. Great one, Ellen!
Wow! This just captures the energy of the city!
Love the angles and lights of the buildings! Great composition! Exciting!

I absolutely love this photo – It feels like a tapestry of lights and infrastructure. So different and so well done.

Thanks. I got permission to shoot from the roof of a building on Water Street, more than 50 stories up. Talk about an adventure!

The contrasts in value, intensity, shape and line make this an exciting photograph, I love it. New York! New York!
This photograph is on my list of my best favorite shots ever, and that’s not limiting it to only your work. What a shot!
Wow, Jan, that’s quite an honor! Thank you.
Perfect shot of our beautiful ‘city that never sleeps’! Looks like you had an awesome adventure, Ellen!
What can I say that hasn’t already been said? I love it!
