I just love this image – the balance, the under-statement, the palpable bleakness, and yet the grace and beauty. New York in the throes of a snow storm is an unexpected and puzzling place, which you have captured beautifully. This image speaks volumes!

Instant Ellen classic and hands-down one of my favorite shots of yours ever!

Beautiful image. Love the long straight empty road lined by bent and balletic tree branches.

I echo Simone, in that this is instantly and absolutely one of my favorite photos of yours. Looks museum quality to me.

What a great shot, Ellen. I love the dark bare tree branches reaching upward to the sky. Feels like I was there myself!

Yet another iconic NY shot. You’ve captured this view in the dead of winter with a poignant lyricism expressing solitude and peace. Gorgeous!

Symmetry and stillness. You really captured the magic of the city in the snow. Thank you.

There is a quiet stillness in this photo that I believe only you could capture during a blizzard, Ellen. The composition has transported me to another time altogether–perhaps 1882? Beautiful.

  12. ellen says:

January 23rd, 1882, to be precise! You got it Rae 🙂

  13. Carole says:

Thank you for weathering the storm in order to capture this perfect shot! You need to have your own New York show. Kudos!

  14. Cheryl says:

I love being out when it is snowing because everything is so pristine and quiet. I also adore stately trees. You allowed me to enjoy a serene winter reverie through your photo. Thanks!

I don’t know what to say. I didn’t think it would be possible to rival last weeks photo. I don’t know if it does or doesn’t. They’re so TOTALLY opposite, 1 week apart, and equally as good. What a contrast from last week. Please send me the other photos.
