And to get you started, here’s “Whisper”:
All comments, about “Whisper” and about any of the images on the Abstract page below. Enjoy and thanks!
Ellen – I am blown away by the look of your dominoes of abstract images – together they form a fascinating mosaic. All I could think of was Mary Quant or Marimekko. Beautiful and challenging work, and arrangement!

Wow! Amazing new project. I love Tulip, Organic Forms, and Ab Ex especially, but these abstracts are all gorgeous. The lines and curves of Whisper are interesting, and the shadows on the left make me wonder what we’re not seeing. Can’t wait for more! Well done.
A beautiful collection! Best wishes for the New Year!
It’s so exciting to see all of these abstracts from you, Ellen! Your eye continues to capture ever more interesting shots, creating quietly complex, often emotional, images.
I love this shot, Whisper, in particular. It’s dreamy, a bit melancholy really, but it creates this subdued calm and serenity that contrasts nicely with your more active “People” series.
Reminds me of my hair in the morning – not sure if it wants to be curly or straight! Only, your photo looks better! Happy New Year. Looking forward to the 2015 Collection!!
What an amazing array of black and white photographs, each one evoking a different emotion. Like “Whisper,” they slowly draw me into each panel. Well done, Ellen!
Whisper is beautifully composed, and although the photo reads as a window with condensation, the patterns of straight lines, soft, fluid lines and wiry squiggles form a vaporous abstraction.
Such a great new collection – so many textures and so much contrast and light.
I think this is going to be my favorite collection. A lot of my comments mention the abstract quality of the photos I was commenting on even when they were figurative. It is almost magical the way you strip away the mundane view of everyday objects and let us see them in ways we never thought of.
Thank you Cheryl. It’s so interesting for me to see through the reality of an object and find it’s abstract qualities. I appreciate your support, as always.
Bringing new meaning to urban jungle! Nice shot!
