Imitation is the Sincerest Form of Flattery

I was at MOMA yesterday to see a wonderful small show of women photographers. It was a hot and sticky August day in New York and the sculpture garden was empty.  Except for this woman who was posing for a photo with Giacometti’s Tall Figure III.

This looks great with all of the vertical lines in the photo! Also, I love this sculpture and the woman’s pose is so well captured in time!

Wow! Is this woman a part of the statue? It almost looks like they are one entity at the base. Great photographic observation Ellen – I guess life does imitate art.

I love this picture! As someone who is more along the lines of Short Figure II herself, I appreciate this woman’s effort to size up to Tall Figure III. So fun when a great picture comes out of someone else’s picture taking.

This is such a COOL picture!!

  5. Thanks everyone. Another one of those lucky moments in time. A second later and she had walked away. EG

This is awesome. I love how you manage to capture little moments of irony like this!

Love this one! I hadn’t seen it before. How lucky you caught her at just the right moment.
