Wow, this is THE photo! Love how it could be anytime in the past. Love the movement of the seagulls and the streaks of clouds behind them. Love the crashing of the waves. I wouldn’t change a thing – it’s perfection.
What a perfect photograph, Ellen! You have captured a timeless image and, while frozen in time, still gives us the motion of the seagulls and scudding clouds. Well done!
I love black and white photos for the timelessness they can provide. The also take on a more artistic look with the gray shadowing effects. The excellent composition of pier, water, sky and clouds you captured adds to the beauty of this photograph.
Love this photo!!

When life mimics nature! A beautiful black and white with the bird’s flight following the pattern of the drifting clouds.
Great shot! You captured the essence of the perfect ocean scene.
So much nature in motion
The clouds, the sea, and the seagulls in between
With their wings outstretched
As if conducting the scene.

Ansel Adams, eat your heart out…
Thank you everyone. One of my favorite things about this photo is the reflection of the legs of the pier in the water.
I echo others’ sentiments. The reflection of the legs of the pier in the water remind me of piano keys. I love photos that spark one’s imagination!
