Great combination of delicate flowers and solid steel, Ellen! The bridge superstructure beyond is also steel, but your perspective here gives it a delicate quality. Well done!
Fragile wildflowers and foliage under the tracks of a (roller coaster?) with a view of the (Queensboro Bridge?) The metal and flowers contrast is a very interesting compostion. Wonderful photograph!
This was taken on the new East River Esplanade, over the FDR from 53rd to 63rd streets. Yes Carolyn that’s the 59th Street Bridge. It’s been truly amazing how the city has reclaimed so many waterfronts along both the East and Hudson Rivers!
No matter how much industry prevails
With bridges, beams and towers
There is always room
For flowers!
Nice combination of nature and industry. Interesting juxtaposition of the rigid structure, and the free-form flowers.

“No matter how chaotic it is, wildflowers will still spring up in the middle of nowhere.” — Sheryl Crow
A beautiful balance of nature and humankind!
LOVE this urban-meets-country moment here. A beautiful capture!
