What a perfect photograph, Ellen! And the reference to Broadway show Sunday in the Park With George (and the painting, A Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grande Jatte by Georges Seurat) is most apropos here! You have captured a beautiful day on the Tidal Basin. Well done!
My first thought was also of Sunday in the Park with George. I can image all the people coming to life amidst the beautiful cherry trees. Also love the blue of the water and sky. Thank you!
Such a lovely spot to photograph and paint! Cherry blossoms are a reminder of spring’s promise.
Love the variety of light and shade in this photo. The artist’s appreciation of the natural scene before them is tangible!.
Love this shot! Art capturing art!
Thanks Emily. One of my favorite things to catch is an artist at work en plein air!

Lovely photograph. The cherry trees in bloom are so beautiful. The artist painting the scene was a wonderful catch.

Wow, immediately I thought of Seurat and Grande Jatte! Absolutely love the painter and this interpretation under the cherry trees. Beautiful!
