Storm’s a comin’…

After a day of heavy wind and pounding rain at the Jersey shore on Saturday, I got out early Sunday morning to take photos at the beach. I took these two photos at almost exactly the same moment, one facing the beach, one facing the opposite direction.

The stark contrast is indeed incredible. It looks like a new day is dawning after the storm. It must have been spectacular to stand there viewing the changing sky.

Wow, what a powerful image of the impending storm! Instantly thought of the Wizard of Oz. Dramatic contrast between the clouds and that little house.

What awesome photographs, Ellen! The stark white house against an angry sky is the perfect juxtaposition to the beautiful clouds and sparkling sun. Well done!

My fist thought was also The Wizard of Oz–such an iconic image from the movie! The contrast between your 2 images is amazing!

I have to agree that the photo reminds me of the Wizard of Oz. The white house with the menacing looking dark clouds over it makes you think that the house is about to lift off of its foundation. The shot is exciting to look at.

Dramatic contrast between the two photos. However, the gorgeous blue sky, sparkling sunshine, grumbling waves and floating clouds really speak to me

Wow – what a contrast of color, texture and weather. So true – very Wizard of Oz. Thank heavens there wasn’t a tornado.

Amazing to think that there can be that polar diversity at the very same moment! Beautifully documented.
