What a fascinating photograph, Ellen! The people on the right look like they could be woven into the tapestry – or are they? You definitely caught them in the moment.
Intriguing. Posture tells a story.
very interesting photo!…looks like you photographed a piece of fabric…i love the texture and the effect.
Hmmm… sure captures a mood…..Piecing together what was left after Sandy?
Looks like a portrait from a land of dystopia. Great shot!
They must be looking at a piece of art, and you’re on the other side! No? Either way, this is such a unique photo. Well done!
This is rather abstract and very interesting. Please tell us what you saw!
OK, thanks all for your interest. I saw a show of Nigerian artist El Anatsui’s large wall works, created with bottle caps and other found materials, that are pieced together to form colorful, textured hangings. They are really beautiful and look like ancient African textiles. This photo was taken looking through one of them to a man and his daughter standing on the other side.
I recognize El Anatsui’s Wall at Brooklyn Museum. Love the way the figures are woven into the fabric of the tapestry.
