Hallelujah, they arrived in spectacular fashion, just in time for Mother’s Day. Thanks for sharing your photo of Mother Nature’s delicate and elaborate gift.
I adore irises and every year I wait impatiently for them to bloom. Mine have yet to appear so thanks, Ellen, for giving me the chance to celebrate early (and twice!) with the timely arrival of yours.
Nature’s beauty is life’s gift to us. Ellen, you were given the extra gift of capturing that beauty in slices of time for those who might never have enjoyed it otherwise. Instead of disappearing forever, this velvety and luscious blue bloom will live on, renewing our pleasure over and over again. The hidden joy is that the memory of this exquisite iris will be forever linked with all the other memories of your artistic vision. They are now ours to call upon whenever we wish.
The flowers are so lovely. A corsage for Mother’s Day. My mom used to say that about the pink flowering Dogwood tree on my front lawn. Thank you for sharing your beautiful photo.
Another Georgia O’Keefe moment. Just stunning. Happy Spring!

Such a beautiful photo! Can’t get over the colors and textures in that one flower. Happy Mother’s Day!
You have captured amazing detail and bold color here, Ellen, bringing this beautiful flower to life in front of our very eyes. Well done!

What a gorgeous color. I think of them as white.
