I see the planes – it has echoes of the color paintings done by Rothko, Barnett and the like in the early 50’s – the color field painters, where long, flat strips of color cover the surface. Marvelous perspective and angle – very cleverly done.

Especially celebrating, after a season of wintry gray
The riotous colors the springtime flowers display!

    Beautiful shot!

STUNNING photo. I wish I could leap through the screen into the field. The colors are beautiful and I love the way they act like horizontal stripes leading the eye up to the tiny farm house in the distance. Just beautiful!

You have truly captured the inherent beauty of this tulip field, Ellen, and from a unique perspective. Well done!!

This a a beautifully captured, colorful and happy photo. It is reminiscent of a painting Bob Ross might have painted. I can just hear him say “and we’ll put a happy little farmhouse in the distance.”

I knew everyone would love this photo. I literally had to sit in the dirt to get the “flower’s eye view” of the landscape that I wanted. But it was worth it to be compared to Rothko and Ross, truly the scope of modern art history, haha.
