In memory of all the men and women who lost their lives in service to our country and in honor of all the men, women, and children who have died just trying to live their lives in this country.

A fresh approach to showing the flag and the body of water. Very nice.

I appreciate this photo and your sentiments. In many ways our country is a vast distance–as wide as an ocean?–away from its promise of “liberty and justice for all.”

Great photo here, Ellen. Crisp imagery that represents a complex story. Well done!

  4. Jan says:

On the shoreline for all those who lost their lives far and wide, and for all mankind: ‘forever in peace shall she wave’.

  5. Simone says:

The perfect Memorial Day photo (how you captured the boat and flag in parallel like that is amazing) and sadly the most fitting sentiment. Thank you, as always, for your photography.

Amusing that the sailboat seems to be heading one way, while the flag is going the other! A nice juxtaposition (even though we all know the wind is blowing rignt to left..).
