“Thank goodness for the first snow. It was a reminder–no matter how old you became and how much you’d seen–things could still be new if you were willing to believe they still mattered.” –Candace Bushnell
Serenity personified. Even though the scene is desolate, it is imbued with hope – maybe from the glow on the water, the softness of the buildings silhouetted in the background, and the empty bench framed by the bare trees. Lovely!
It’s amazing how something so cold can make you feel so warm. The wonder of a first snow storm is always something magical. Somehow you took something indescribable and captured it on camera. Great shot!!
True depiction of A Winter’s Day! Makes me think of Simon and Garfunkle.
Excellent photo, Ellen! The sparkle on the water combined with the soft outline of distant buildings are a great visual. Well done!
Nice photo! I’m going out soon to take a few photos around here, too.
You can feel the cold! The glow between the trees reflected on the water completes the wintry scene.

Perfect stark, crisp snowy scene – love the light on the water. A beautiful shot!
