This could very easily be one of those Florida-style paintings, with pale colors and broad swipes of color from edge to edge. I love it, and the detail that becomes clear when one looks more closely. Iconic New York!

  2. Jacqueline says:

Somehow this image made me feel hopeful for a more peaceful future for New York City and for the world. Blue skies ahead?

  3. Simone says:

WOW, what an incredible photo and instant classic! Always wondered what the skyline would look like from there. Even the natural placement of the clouds lead the eye down to the city. As always, thanks for showing us the world from your view.

  4. Bernice says:

Another iconic NYC view – all pastel blues and peaceful at this tumultuous time.

    No matter how many times
Our city is hit by “fire”
Our response is always the same
We’ll build back – even higher!

  6. Jan says:

I love the “whitewash” effect in this photo. It actually looks more like a painting than a photo. Stunning!

Great perspective here, Ellen! The ever-changing NYC skyline in your photos is always fascinating. I think the one thing that draws me in here is the curve of the Hudson River as it wends its way to Jersey City on the distant right bank and then out to sea in my imagination. Well done!
