I was not at all happy when they knocked down the old stadium, the house that Ruth built, the one that my father went to as a kid, that he took me to as a child. But I must say, I was awed by the grace and beauty of the new building and its recognition of the history that came before it.
Oooo! So stately, great angle on it. Really makes it feel like a monument.
Beautiful shot of a beautiful stadium!
I like this shot, Ellen! Gate 4 is like a giant monument to the history of baseball and certinly to the Yankees. It feels even bigger and more permanent with the tiny airplane above, a fly compared to a giant elephant. Long after we stop using airplanes and start “beaming up,” baseball will still be here grounding us all. Well done!
I was just about to say something very close to what Evan said (above) but I would not have expressed it quite so well, so let me just say, “ditto”!
I agree, this reminds me of a monument – to a wonderful team, and in memory of the old stadium. Great shot.
Great shot of a new icon in New York City.
Looks like a fine addition to the Bronx.
