I love the mystery of the man in the suit. He is well dressed, wearing an expensive watch, and clearly communicating with his CIA contact! I also like the reflection of the overhead lights as they continue onto the face of the column – almost ghostly. This could be a Hitchcock poster for one of his movies! Well done again, Ellen.
I am obsessed with this photo! The man is Mr. Every Commuter, and the blurred figures down the hallway seem to represent the chaos of GCS. So very awesome.
This is a great narrative photograph–you can tell by all the comments above. To me, it’s soooo New York. Can’t waste a minute. Going, going, going. Time is money.
A very serendipitous metaphor within the photo – as so many people in our modern world do seem to be hiding behind their cells phones, and missing the bustling life around them.
I really love the mystery of this picture as well. And the color palette works really nicely with the overall intriguing, almost eerie feel of Grand Central at night. Well done!
Grand Central is one of my favorite places since childhood train rides to upstate NY. You captured the passageway of today.
This is wonderful! I keep wanting to peek around the corner and uncover the mystery of the man’s face. Great composition.
He looks like a spy and he sets a tone of mystery in the vast plunge into space.

Thanks Simone. I agree with your analysis of the figures. That’s what it says to me too!

I’m so glad you put the man in. It is definitely more interesting that way. It gives the photo a surrealistic look that grabs your attention.
“halfway home” in travel but already home on his cell!
