I love the perspective! Both, through the windows and the hands illuminated through the back of the clock!

What makes us tick is always an amazing revelation! You captured the essence on so many levels, Ellen. Wonderful photo.

Love the dichotomy between the round clock and the arched windows, Ellen, and the black and white feel with a shot of the World Trade Center in color is a great effect. Well done as usual!

Time keeps on slippin’, slippin’, slippin’ into the future. Great photo!

Breathtaking – I actually gasped when I first saw it! I don’t know what I love more: the way it almost feels like a diptych or the subtle silhouettes of the hands of the clock from your inside perspective. Absolutely an instant Iconic NY photo. Well done!

Gorgeous photograph in black and white. It makes an absolutely beautiful composition.

Don’t know how you got up there, but it’s a unique fairy tale view of the innards of a great clock. It truly does look like a diptych with the view out the 3 windows on the right. Are these from one shot or 2?

I knew someone who knew someone! One photo, not two, from behind the clock. Awesome view, and not a black and white. If you look out the windows, you will see blue skies and buildings, one of which you may recognize!

This has all the elements of an amazing competition photo – the contrast, the unusual balance of shapes, the spidery clock movement, the balance between large and small, antique and modern, and 1 World Trade in the right window. Killer image!

Kudos on the sale! Is this a diptych or one photo?

  11. ellen says:

Thanks Anne! It is one photo.

Congratulations on the corporate purchase of your photo. You are such a great photographer. It is wonderful to see you getting the recognition you deserve. We both love clocks so the subject of the photo is especially attractive to us. You always find a way to capture a fresh viewpoint of regular objects.
