Did a shoot in Hoboken and Jersey City. Expected to see great views of NYC. Didn’t expect to see this Korean War Monument.

Amazing sunshine shot! It’s fun to find unexpected treasures; may you find many in the New Year!
This seems to be the motto for every war, but we forget anyway. It’s easy to misinterpret the flash of sunlight! Is that a burst of gunfire aimed at the lone soldier?
Sadly, you’re right Bernice. The sun shining between the flag poles made it uplifting. I’ve got another great shot of the two soldiers silhouetted against the sun if you’d like to see it. Thanks for your continued support.
What a dramatic photograph, Ellen. The solemnity of the monument, the silhouette of the soldiers and a bright ray of hope. A war long gone but its sacrifices definitely not forgotten.
Very poignant. The sun reminds me of the candles Jews light to remember their dead – but it almost seems to be coming from the Heavens, like a reminder to us to never forget.
