World’s Fair

I visited the old World’s Fair Grounds for the first time since I was a little girl.  It was very moving and a little sad to be there after so many years and to remember the awe inpsiring pavilions and exhibits of yesteryear.

This is awesome. There’s something about the angle of it and the majesty that makes it seem like you’re still that little girl, looking up at the shapes in the sky, pondering.

Looks like they are praying for a better world – wonderfully composed geometries!

Interesting juxtaposition of shapes and tonality. I found it very moving.

I love the movement created by the orbits of the globe and the curvature of the statue. It almost seems as if the monument (and the people within it) is soaring above the earth.

Very interesting the way the sculpture appears to touch the unisphere. I think this would be amazing in black and white. And timeless.

I always loved seeing the globe when I was driving through Queens. Thanks for the memories.
