Andy Warhol on Broadway

Turned a corner and walked into this.  You never know who or what you’re going to see in NYC!

So glad we have public art in NYC and glad you have captured it here. It makes us keep our eyes open to see what’s just around the corner!

  2. Bernice says:

What a great shot! Warhol is perfectly placed between the 2 buildings, with his silvery curves contrasting their geometries. And the bit of greenery below presents a touch of nature amid the urban grid.

I like it! Galvanized Andy Warhol – feet planted on the ground and head in the clouds. A giant among the masses, yet carrying a shopping bag. And it all happens on Broadway (way to sneak the street sign into the photograph). Well done again, Ellen!

I love him in contrast with the large plant – he’s still tremendous! Very interesting shot.

Thanks Simone. What you don’t see from this perspective is that the sculpture is actually pretty small – smaller than life size. I took the shot from the ground to give him the stature that you see here. Thanks again for being part of my “fan club”, much appreciated. Ellen
