Your photo reminds me of paintings by Eric Sloane, whose artistic intent was to accurately delineate the life and working environs of Americans of 200 years ago. This seems as genuine an image as any of his. Brava!
Ahhh, plowing the fields in spring. I like how you captured the contrast of emerging colors and the stark trees and soil which have yet to blossom.
This looks like a painting from another era! Love the beautiful simplicity of this calming moment, as well as the vibrant colors.
Beautiful, peaceful shot! A true step back in time.
Truly a timeless photograph, Ellen. I particularly like the fence perspective. It draws us into the picture and back in time. Well done!
As nostalgic as a Currier & Ives print, but far more beautiful. Aside from the horse drawn plowman, the beauty of the early spring colors, the perspective of the split rail fence and the feathery branches of the trees all contribute to the charm of the photo.
Looks like simpler times. The contrast of the gray branches and the one tree in bloom, is gorgeous!!
A lovely, peaceful photo, reminiscent of simpler times.
This photo gets me to thinking of past times: simplicity and beauty, but hard work and uncertainty too. I like the fact that the trees are just budding out. It lends a delicacy and almost dreamlike quality to the scene.
