This photo brought back memories of walking up and down 5th Avenue around Christmas time with my family. I liked the 2nd exhibition of the people of NY. I hope you have a happy holiday.
So I’m a huge fan of your people photos! Mostly because you not only subtly capture them in their element, you capture them engaging with the city – as if they’re part of the city itself and not just living and working here. I also love how you use reflections and doorways to change how we, as your viewers, see the scene. This hit me especially with the 9/11 memorial photo and the one of the man at what I assume is a MetroCard booth (Better Half). In this week’s blog photo, I love the scale of the tiny girl and the larger-than-life creatures – almost reminds me of the Museum of Natural History (meets Christmas windows!) Well done as always across the board 🙂
A lovely sense of wonder created by the scale of the little girl and the giant bear. The rest of the people photos are evocative – some funny, some sad, but all wonderful!
I love the innocence of this photo, Ellen. I can see her thinking about how to reach up and hug that bear!
Natural Redhead 2013 and Ballpark are definitely my favorites on your wonderful exhibit of people photography. I urge everyone to see these and other great images. Again, well done!
The wonderment in a child’s eye! You captured it Ellen.
I just looked at all 68 photos of the Changing Exhibition – I thought 90% of them were amazing – I laughed, I cried, I was moved.
Fantastic! You could publish this whole collection as “The People of NY”
Thanks Michelle. Wish I could! And I’ve got hundreds more images.
