What a perfect match to your previous photograph, “Sunrise!” There is a certain continuity here. The silhouette of the buildings and the intense color of the sky anchor the two ends of our day. “Sunrise” introduces the light of day, while “City Sunset” is all about settling down for the evening. Thanks!
The color of the sky is beautiful, but somehow the scene makes me feel lonely. Maybe it is the dark brooding buildings that you caught just before all the lights are turned on. Was there a particular mood you were going for or is it just my personal reaction to the picture?
I was trying to catch the light and color in the sky against the silhouette of the buildings. And was thrilled to see the light on in only one window. For me, therein lies the interest, and the composition.
All of these images are fantastic! The 4th of July beach photo is incredible, I can’t believe how crowded it was. It’s so great that you have discovered a passion that you can explore and continue to master over a lifetime.
Wow, this almost reminds me of Magritte – the window is a hole in the flat silhouetted building through which you can see the sunset. Very surreal and very dramatic. And very beautiful.

Wow! This took my breath away. The crisp black shapes of the city can’t quite contain the rich and dynamic colors of the sky.
