So many gave so much. Thank you for your service.
Very evocative.
Let us never forget those who gave the ultimate sacrifice, and Honor those who have given us the freedoms we enjoy today.
A great shot, Ellen. I love the waves and the angles, as well as the flagpole’s position in the shot, dividing the brick and trees, and the man’s pensive focus downward. The perfect shot to remember those who gave their lives to keep us safe.
This is a wonderful photo, Ellen. I see a Civil War soldier being comforted by his country’s flag. His head is bowed in reverence as the flag reaches down to touch his shoulder. Thanks for honoring our soldiers so well.
The contrast between the bright colors of our flag and the muted uniform on the solemn soldier is very moving.
Emotionally evocative and beautifully composed shot of a Revolutionary War re-enactor remembering the fallen. It’s equally poignant for all military service losses, including those of our own times.
