Lovely summer’s evening shot, Ellen. The ombre sky gives the beach it’s end of day illumination. It’s a perfect backdrop for the 2 lone souls.
This is as dramatic, ethereal and nuanced as any Joel Meyerowitz landscape, and, like his, it cries out to be a very large-format image – Brilliant!
The perspective on this is AMAZING!!! Looks like you caught two very differently sized people and their evening at the beach. A beautiful photo too – ethereal, like Thom said. Just lovely.
The dark beach contrasted against that beautiful multi-colored sky is amazing, Ellen! Dramatic and soothing all at once.
I love the serenity of this. Beautiful!
I love this, Ellen. It’s soothing. The colors are subtle. You do the most unusual beach photographs.
I can feel the cool and the stillness of a summer evening. Lovely.
The silhouettes of the figures on the beach remind me of many films and photographs of decades past. There’s a kind of calmness in the image, yet, based on the directions the figures are facing, there seems to be some slight melancholy here, too. This, combined with the beautiful softness from the sunset and you’ve got a real winner, Ellen!
Sorry for the late comment. The silence and stillness of this photo emphasizes the aloneness of the 2 dark figures, broken by the irony of the figure’s concentration on his smart phone.
