One of my favorite statues in the city! A great, classic shot of a neighborhood icon. Thank you!

Is that “meta”? Art within the art. And indeed, if we imagine you, the photographer taking this picture, the “meta” continues……

    Beautiful sculpture, and beautifully conceived!

The first time I walked past this a couple years ago I thought it was a performer- one dressed and standing as still as a statue. I’ve had a little soft spot for it since!

I’ve always wanted to ask him where he learned to paint. Seward Johnson outdid himself on this one. It also reminds me of my wonderful trip to Hamilton, NJ last summer to see his exhibition at The Grounds for Sculpture. What fun!

I love that the artist is “painting” with a white pen. I would guess that’s what the title of this photo refers to. The pen actually centers the photograph and pulls your eye into the painting on the easel.

I liked the blocks of color – the red of the painters hat, the two blocks of blue in the background. And ironic fact that the painting itself no longer has any color, which has been beaten on by the weather.
