Love the tribute to our soldiers on Memorial Day, Ellen! Was it intentional to have the POW/Missing in Action flag over the empty chairs? If so, well done.
Actually I had to wait quite a bit to get the shot with those chairs empty. Mostly I didn’t want strangers in bathing suits in the shot, but secondarily it did seem symbolic.
Great shot! I love the way the flags almost echo one another, as well as the line of chairs and legs. Even the flag’s shadow falls in line. Well done.
A beautiful Memorial Day! Interesting that the flag is dated 1775 and not 1776. Optimism was a cornerstone of our spirit!

Shows the beauty of the day on a much deeper level.
