You captured the essence of Montauk. What a beautiful perspective of the history, ocean, beach, rocks and majesty. I particularly love the dedication.

Great shot of the Montauk Lighthouse! Growing up on Long Island, I always saw this outpost as “The Beginning” much like the LIRR Montauk Station leading on to it’s last stop “Penn”. I enjoyed your Changing Exhibit Montauk photos too – you picked a perfect weekend!

I am going to read into this photograph, although it certainly stands on its own, Ellen. How about: America as a beacon for the world! And to comment on your changing exhibition, which is also excellent, “Waders” and “Rocky Coast” are my favorites – little fishermen challenging the huge ocean, and the rocks appearing so big against the Montauk bluffs. Well done!

A wonderful composition of contrasts, as usual. Dark diagonal of leafy earth and diaphanous diagonal of fluffy clouds; verticals of solid light house with glass dome, and slender flagpole topped by a fluttering flag. The photo evokes fresh breezes and warm sun.

A triumphant and cinematic shot of an otherwise ordinary scene. You never fail to make things interesting 🙂

This is one of a great series on Montauk. My favorites are “The View from Above” and the photos of the boats.

This is such a dynamic photo!I feel your eye really shines through on this one, Ellen. The diagonal of the sea-side bank stands as great contrast to the architecture of the lighthouse, lifting me up to the softness of the clouds above. The waving flag on right only emphasizes the strong standing structure of the lighthouse, while holding its own ground in a subtle way. This is certainly a strong, yet subtle, piece!

Regarding the rest of the collection, my favorites are Flying Away and View From Above. There’s a nice complimentary aspect in the entire collection of chaos and calm.

Beautiful! I love the changing exhibition, Rocky Coast and Waders are by far my favorite.
