Old versus new. In this case the modern building enhances the view of the High Line walk as opposed to the building that destroyed the view of the Brooklyn Bridge. Wonderful photo.
What an interesting composition, Ellen! Hiding behind these beautiful flowering plants is a city of brick, concrete and steel. I also love the perspective of the tiny person with her back to the city, enjoying nature. Well done!
What a great juxtaposition – the plants and flowers of the foreground, and the city view behind. It brings Bill Peet’s book, Wump World, to mind…
And is that a person hiding at the lower left?
Yes, Wump World meets big city! And yes, that is a woman in a yellow gown. I love how we see the color through the railing.
I love this photo of a little piece of nature against the background.

Beautiful layering of colors and textures in this photo! You have an excellent eye.
Thank you Simone. It comes from a lifetime of looking!
