Thank you for the touching photo. This year the holiday is a mix of joyfulness and sadness, thinking of the Bondi Beach attack. Wishing all who celebrate a safe and peaceful holiday.
What a dramatic photo, Ellen! The glowing orange flames and the light reflected on each candle against the surrounding darkness brings hope to all. Well done!
Such a haunting image as the candles which represent all we’re thankful for surrounded by the darkness of the tradgedies this weekend. Let there be more light.
This photograph is apropos not only for Chanukah but specifically this period of time in the world.
The warmth and beauty of the flames of the Chanukah Menorah shine brightly representing faith and hope and the miracle of the oil amidst the darkness. May the light of the candles always dispel the darkness.
We have all seen many photographs of Chanukah candles taken in a traditional manner, but this one is truly arresting. The flames may be bent by the attempts of those that want to extinguish them, but every time they survive and bounce back with resilience and determination. Evil must never be allowed to triumph.
Beautiful!!!
Said candle number one
To the Shamash
You’re always sure and true
And I’m always looking up to you!
I love this, so simple but so striking. It’s like the flames are bowing their heads.
