  3. Bruce says:

Great photo, Ellen! The Sun sets on both the real Earth and the Unisphere all at the same time. I like the silhouette and reflection in the water, as well.

I am in love with this photo! I agree that it’s magical. I love the mystical figures walking around the base of the statue, as well as the way you caught the setting sun peeking through.

Wonderful perspective; a collaboration of a man-made and natural outdoor planetarium show! The splash of color here (the sun) shows nature as the artist.

  6. Bernice says:

I love this photo – it casts a mysterious mood with the hazy water jets, the unidentified figures, the huge openwork globe, and of course, the sunset reflected on the water.

  7. Sarah says:

What a shot! Could be a campaign shot for global warming! The concentrated silhouette is particularly striking. 🙂

Such a unique perspective of the Unisphere. I like the restricted palette of colors too; it’s much more dramatic and interesting. You’ve used perfect timing to combine the sun peeking around the globe with the figure highlighted in the water’s reflection. A lot of your work has almost an abstract art feel to it; that lends an additional depth to the pictures because you can view them as intriguing compositions of shape and color as well as realistic portrayals of a scene.
