Spectacular!!! I get to see the sunrise over mountains each morning, which is breathtaking, but seeing the sun rise above the ocean forever remains a favorite sight!! Thank you!!

My grandfather owned a tiny house in Hawaii, and I have slides somewhere of the beautiful glow of lava creeping across the lawn and burning the house. Like the fires of Hell!

    Gorgeous sunrise
    Our daily phenomenal show!
When we change our clocks by an hour
It will have to wonder; where did everyone go?

This is a spectacular photo, full stop. The layers, the textures, the colors. Those clouds! I gasped when I saw it. Worth waking up early to capture this beautiful moment in time. Thank you for sharing it with us all!

Wowsa, wowsa, wowsa, Ellen! You have caught an awe-inspiring moment in time. Not only does the burning sun illuminate the surrounding clouds, but it also engages the ocean’s waves as they travel to shore. Such motion and heat, all in one striking image. Well done!

Thanks Carolyn. That’s why I went out shooting this past weekend – next weekend we change the clocks and I’d have to be up even earlier to catch the sunrise. Definitely worth it!
