Did not realize this is the little red lighthouse with the great gray bridge. Glad I read Simone’s comment. From this vantage point in the photo it looks so tiny. I thought it is a little red lighthouse wannabe. Thank goodness for Little Red’s pop of color on a cold drab icy day. Great catch!
Little Red certainly looks little! I love the balance of this photo and all the contrasts: little and huge, delicate branches and massive metal structure, shades of gray and pop of red.
What an awesome perspective in this photo, Ellen! My eye immediately travels across the frozen river floes to the red lighthouse on the far shore. The massive bridge hovering above provides the comparative perspective. Well done!
When all else is black and white
and icy and cold
Little red is a welcome splash of color
So red; so bold!
Oh I love this photo so much! Great catch with the ice, but also this beautiful little lighthouse. Thank you for sharing!

Great to see Little Red from the other shore!
Marty, I didn’t even realize it was visible from New Jersey. I was there to photograph the ice in the river. The lighthouse was a bonus!
