What an visually impactful photo, Ellen, and what a great catch! The patterns thrown onto the floor are almost three-dimensional, and the silhouette of the man adds an air of mystery to the image. Well done!
I love photos that make me think. In this case I wasn’t sure what I was looking at and I was trying to figure it out. Thank goodness for other reviews or I would still be trying. It really is a wonderfully artistic photograph and I love the effects. Kudos to you for this great photo.
Just got back from vacation (Egypt!) to find this unusual photo waiting for me. I love the elongation of the circle’s shadow, emptied of the greenery. Thanks for another stunning image, and have a Happy Thanksgiving!
My favorite works of yours are those where you take actual objects in the world and use your camera to present them in such a way as to remove our preconceived ideas about what they are. Imperceptibly and unexpectedly, they flatten to 2D…geometric abstractions that make us wonder where our everyday world disappeared to. It takes us back to our very first days of life when nothing had a name, and we perceived everything without any filters. When we look a second time, depth and familiarity come rushing back to surround and comfort us once more.

Interesting how the shadow
Looks like the real object on the floor
But the real objects
Are the window and the door.
Nice play on light and shadows! Very interesting effect. Not your typical Brooklyn Botanic Gardens photo!
Love this shadow, and love this spot!
Thanks Emily. Me too!

Wow Jacqueline, I bet you got some amazing photos in Egypt! Have a wonderful Thanksgiving and thanks for being a follower of my work.
Love this shot with its shadows and silhouette!
