What clarity in this photo, both near and far! More please…..

  2. John D. says:

I love the yellow glow in the windows, too bad more people did not have their lights on. Great job as always.

  3. Bevy says:

Strikingly beautiful! I love it! Artistically, the sky really cooperated, with it’s lighter part behind the buildings, making them more pronounced, and it’s dramatic deeper hues higher up in the photo. Great shot!

  4. Carole says:

You captured the new, New York City skyline. I agree with Bev. The beauty of the sky added to the dramatic effect. Great, as always!

  5. Bernice says:

I love the geometry of the composition, the beautiful modulations of color in the sky, from pale pink and grey to the darker blue clouds, and the punctuations of yellow lighted windows and fainter yellow tower in the distance.

Can anyone say Ellen “Hopper” Goodman? The warm glow of the lit windows drew me into the two buildings in the foreground, with the counterpoint being the vastness of the city beyond. And the lone tree on the roof – a hint of nature in the concrete jungle. Well done!

  7. Sarah says:

Wow! I agree with Bruce; very Hopperesque. The foreground gives a sense of intimacy that is juxtaposed with the vast and distant skyline. Nicely done!

  8. Eileen says:

Great combination of dark and light. Love the muted colors.

  9. Simone says:

My favorite from this series. Such a beautiful shot, the ledge frames the skyline so perfectly.

  10. Karen says:

The Impressionist sky looks so delicate behind the powerful granite masses of the city.

I love the composition in this. Having the closeup of the building on the right gives a sense of depth and interest. It also gives a geometric/abstract look to the photo. I like when you can go back and forth in your mind and see realism then abstraction and back again.
