Eyes hiding in the fronds. Surreal and enchanting. Great job Ellen.

Are those eyes, or feathers in bloom?

The natural colors in peacock feathers are quite amazing. Like hummingbird colors!

Amazing colors and textures, and how cool to see them all so up close! Beautiful.

I love this photo, Ellen! I recognize this as peacock feathers, but I can’t help seeing a bunch of eyes staring back at me from some strange unknown creature in the wild. Well done!

Nature never fails to amaze! Here’s a bit of trivia: “The peacock’s shimmering train of feathers tipped with eye-shaped spots ranks among the most cited examples of what Darwin called sexual selection. Eyespots seemed a good predictor of a male’s chances of success in past studies of peafowl in England.” Whatever turns you on!
