Washington Crossing the Delaware

Went to the Christmas day re-enactment of Washington Crossing the Delaware.  So interesting, truly like going back into history.

These straggly guys look cold, and the one hitching up his pants adds a comical note to the historic re-enactment. Love the narrative nature of the whole group of photos in the changing exhibition section.

It is like looking back in time. Interesting that the flag back then was blue and white (no red stripes yet) however, the overall color palate of the photograph is red, white, and blue – a sign of things to come. Great exhibition as well, Ellen. “Washington and His Officers” is my favorite!

I love these shots! His Excellency is probably my favorite, I swear it looks like you time traveled.

Enjoyed seeing the photos. A very unusual way to spend the day – and obviously lots of fun.

History comes alive in these exhibitions…the best way to learn! Likewise, your photo comes alive in it’s almost black and white background (as most historic photos are) contrasted by the figures in the boat in living color.
