What a “festive” photograph, Ellen! Celebrating the lights with warmth at home and high up on the Empire State Building for all to see. Well done and Happy Chanukah!
“A little bit of light dispels a lot of darkness.” (Rabbi Schneur Zalman of Liadi). And a lot of lights??? Thank you for a stunning image, and Happy Chanukah to you and yours!
This photograph is another of my favorites because it is a quintessential Ellen Goodman shot. Ellen, you are a master at taking reality and morphing it into a symbol. What might have been a glittering but ordinary NYC nighttime skyline–or–a lone menorah closeup destined for a Chanukah greeting card has been transformed by their superimposition into something totally new and unique…New York being embraced by the spirit of the ancient roots and traditions of G-d’s Chosen People. What better way can there be to proclaim Happy Chanukah to all!
Wow, the Shamash
Wow, the Empire State Building
Each, the light enhancing all the others
You aligned your photograph
So the Shamash points the way
To the symbolic Shamash
Mazel Tov, I dare say!

What a view! Happy Hanukkah. Enjoy every magical moment.
Awesome image of the lighted Menorah superimposed on night time NYC view of the light show on the Empire State Building. Incredible, imaginative!
Great vantage point from behind the Menorah! Thank you Ellen, and NYC!
I love all of the lights, both from menorahs and from the city you love so much! Happy Chanukah!
