In 2008 I went to Greece with my family and my brand new Digital SLR Nikon D60 – the first time I ever traveled without my trusty film camera, my Minolta SRT101 (which still works!). I downloaded all my files onto my computer and would visit them occasionally. Now, years later I have finally gone through the photographs and found that I took some lovely shots (my favorite is “PomPoms”). And while I am not yet ready to go back to traveling, and with deadly fires raging in Greece, I decided to open a new Iconic City page for Athens Plus (Crete, Santorini) – my bid to the universe to send healing to the world.
Please click on the menu above – Portfolio, Iconic Cities Series, Athens Plus. And enjoy your tour!
It’s like a Turner oil painting – full of fire and atmosphere. Beautiful!
What an awesome photograph, Ellen! The layers of color emanating from the setting sun are so rich and set perfectly against the Aegean sea below. Well done!
You can feel the heat in this photo. Thank you for the vicarious trip to Greece!
One more comment – thanks for the new page of Greece images! A wonderful photographic tour!
Quite possibly my favorite set of photos by you. I wish I could escape into each and every one of them – especially all of the ones in Santorini and Crete! This particular photo is so fiery and stunning. I love the layers of color and light. Always dig through your old photos and delight us!
Thanks Simone! Wish I could jump into the photos too. I’ll do my best!
Ahhh Greece! No place like it and you captured it’s essence. Love going back seeing it through your lens. Thank you for sharing.
Thanks Carole! And remember these photographs are 13 years old. I’m up to my fourth and much more advanced digital camera. But some places are timeless – Greece is one of those places for me. Glad it is for you too!
Beautiful Aegean Sea Sunset…
And may it bring forth a new day
Of pristine blue Greek skies and seas
and white structures dotting the cliffs along the way.
Greece, beautiful Greece. The place everyone should visit once. Thank you for the beautiful pix.
I fondly remember the few days mom and I spent in Greece about 20 years ago. Thanks for sharing your memories.
